Most chill job available for someone with HF experience

Former equity L/S HF guy here. Worked at a few multi-billion funds, both with sector specialist and generalist experience. Made my way up to the senior analyst level, and have a couple of monster PnL home runs to my name, but felt burned out and left last year. Been chilling and working on personal pursuits. Have a good amount saved up but still burning through it faster than I had expected, and was considering whether to get another job. I still get hits from headhunters on great HF jobs all the time but have zero interest. What I'm looking for is something very easy. A true 9-5 where someone talented could do great with their eyes closed. I don't care at all about ego or prestige, the job doesn't have to be "impressive" in any way. I had all that before and it did nothing for me.

Some of the obvious options would be: 1) Pension fund - this seems to make the most sense, although it doesn't strike me that there is a lot of liquidity in these roles. Would these be through headhunters? 2) Family office - since the teams are smaller, I could see these jobs still being more intense than I am looking for. Also given the setup, I would feel a lot of responsibility for PnL and probably end up working a lot harder than I am looking to do. 3) Investor relations - having interacted with them frequently from the other side, I know that they get hit up at odd hours from anxious investors, and also have to travel a lot for conferences, so this is a hard pass for me.

If anyone has any other ideas or color, I would really appreciate it. Cheers.

My suggestion is for you to look at Fund of Funds. Your skillset will add a lot of value since you know the direct investing component. Headhunters prowl this segment quite a bit so finding positions is easier.

Family offices vary A LOT and require extensive relationship-building/networking to find the right place. That said, it's possible to find diamond positions with the perfect balance you're looking for. There is incredibly variable structure at places like these so a lot of due diligence is needed on your end.

Investor relations varies depending on the investor base you serve. If you serve a bunch of long-only's, then your day in the life is much easier. It also depends on your CEO and how paranoid they are on their share price.
