Non-Coding HF Roles

Hi all. My sincere apologies in advance if my question is naive. I know little about Hedge Funds and practically nothing about coding / computer science.

This summer, I will be an IB summer analyst. If all goes well, I hope to secure the return offer and begin my IB career. From freshman year, I knew I wanted to pursue IB because it's lucrative, high-paced, interesting, and has good exit opportunities. During high school, I was interested in business, economics, and finance. I was also good at mathematics and with numbers in general. However, when it came to fields such as physics, engineering, computer science, and other non-pure-math STEM, I struggled. I didn't have the mindset for them and simply could never see myself entering those fields career wise. So my thought process was that IB would be a good fit for me because it was reasonably technical but not as quantitative as some other front office finance roles.

However, having been scared shitless by the WLB balance posts on the IB forum, I'm of course trying to improve my understanding of these so called "good exit opportunities." I know corporate development can result in better hours but a substantial pay cut while PE can often be banking 2.0.

But what about hedge funds? Is there hope for someone with my skillset to find a role in a hedge fund? For example, can roles such as trade execution and research truly be non-coding? If these types of roles exist, I would really appreciate it if you could please provide a brief description of day-to-day tasks, qualifications, hours, and pay.

Thank you very much.

I am in a very similar spot. Incoming analyst scared shitless by all this WLB talk and interested in trading but don't have a CS/STEM degree.
