Non-investing careers at large HFs (operations, infra, strategy, tech, etc.)
Anyone here who could have pursued an investing career at a large single- or multi-manager shop (think Citadel, P72, Balyasny, DE Shaw, Two Sigma, etc.), but chose to do something else instead? E.g., operations, infra, strategy, tech, etc.?
- What do you do?
- What did you do before?
- Why not investing? Not interested? Not the right background? Something else?
- What is the career progression and comp potential?
- Do you like the job, the culture, the people?
- Do you feel valued by the firm?
- Anything else?
