Off-cycle internship before BB IB

Currently a junior with an internship lined up in BB IB this summer in NYC. Going to take this Spring semester off since I’m ahead on credits, and I’ll do a bit of travel, volunteering, time with family, etc. I also want to find an internship in the HF/family office space, as I will likely try to transition to the buy-side after a few years in IB. Any tips? Thoughts on how to use the Spring?
