PAAMCO Interview
I am wondering if anybody has any insight on PAAMCO. They have been mentioned here before but not much information. I am interviewing for FT next week and I want to make sure this is what I am looking for. I have done an investment banking internship in the past and I don't want to do 80 hour weeks anymore.
Anybody have any information?
Edited. You can PM me specific questions if you like.
I dont work there, but I went through the interview process recently.
I job shadowed there a long time ago during my freshman summer. Seemed like a very laid-back office, right on the border of Irvine and Newport Beach. Talked to a lot of people but at the time I didn't know shit about lifestyle/comp/culture... Seemed to place well into good MBA schools and the current analysts have great pedigrees
this is a fund of funds, correct? people they interviewed from my university were for account management only, with analytical roles reserved for quant PhD types...
this was several years ago, and i heard this from friends who interviewed... never did so myself.
Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company (PAAMCO)? (Originally Posted: 06/12/2010)
Hey has anyone ever heard of Pacific Alternative Asset Management Company (PAAMCO)? I'm just wondering, since I'm going to shadow there in a week or so and I kinda wanna know how hard I should be trying to get my foot in the door and whatnot. I saw a post from way long ago about it here but I'm wondering if it's changed or advanced at all. And regardless, what does a "Fund of Funds" mean?
Thanks!
A fund of funds is a fund that invests in either mutual funds or hedge funds. They take a fee on top of what the hedge fund managers take. HF's generally do 2/20 (2% management fee, 20% performance fee) and FOF's generally take 1/10 (1% management fee, 10% performance fee).
