Pivoting into Finance (HF/PE/TR)

Hi fellow primates, a little lost here. Got into the game late (i.e. didn’t realise folks at uni were already applying for spring weeks in Y1 of uni. Didn’t manage to qualify for any finance internships in Y2 either). Tried for a couple analyst roles out of my Master’s, no luck too. Got into the civil service and I absolutely hate how soul-crushing and poorly-paying it is. Am still dreaming of being able to cross over into finance one day. What advice would you give to somebody like me? Or am I never going to make the switch?

P.S. My background’s in liberal arts and business management. Thanks in advance!
