Pod recruiting
For those who went through recruiting process how would you know which pod you were recruiting for? Does BD let you know ahead of time? Or do you only know until you make it to the PM interview round

Varies but usually at the end. Really depends how you got the opportunity, most sellside/PE types usually just apply to openings so will have no clue. Sometimes ex HF types will already know, or know of the hiring team beforehand.
If it’s a general intro with biz dev, there is no specific opening and they’ll shop you around to people who might be interested in you.
Otherwise, it’ll always be for a specific PM and you’ll know who that is pretty early in the process.
Is it bad etiquette to drop out of the process if you find that the PM ur recruiting for wasnt one of the top PMs?
