Point72 Winternship - Dead program?
Hi all,
Just wanted to check if anyone knows whether P72's winternship program is dead - I know they ran it for a few years (but not last year), so wasn't sure if it's in the grave or they just skipped a year.
Kinda dropped the ball w/ Summer Academy [Apps closed as I was writing the prompt responses], but I've been keeping an eye on the Winternship since the '24 program, so I was wondering if there's any real chance it comes back.
Doubt anyone knows for sure - was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about it.
With the way things are right now, the summer academy itself might not open next recruiting season. I doubt they will open winternship applications. It usually is already open this time around if they were taking applications.
I thought it was closer to a September open, tho maybe I'm wrong (just remember them having their info session in October)
Why do you say that the summer academy might not open next summer? Have they been getting meh results from it, or is it just about managing bandwidth efficiently?
There is no world in which point does not open applications for next summer of academy; some hate online doesn’t stop them from finding candidates
Isn't it for Dartmouth kids only?
P72's was different than like an Old Mission or Five Rings that target Dartmouth & MIT extra-long breaks. P72's was a week on-site in January & 2 weeks remote (paid), so it's closer to Virtu in that it actually seems to have offered an opportunity to any school (even if they preferred certain schools) to do it.
Their rationale was that they wanted to give people who already took an offer or otherwise couldn't do the summer an opportunity to intern with them.
