Private Account Trading as Global Macro HF Analyst

Hello! I would be curious about how private account trading policies vary from fund to fund, with focus on the global macro HF space, across roles. What restrictions do you have and how hard/easy/cumbersome is it to seek approval to for some short term trades and are there minimum holding periods?

My experience is just from the sell-side research perspective, and it of course pretty restrictive on what can be traded and a pretty cumbersome process to receive approvals.

Thank you!
