Progress to Hedge Fund Management
Hi all! I'm currently in my penultimate year at the University of British Columbia graduating with a degree in Math and minor in data science (my overall GPA is 3.3 with most of my semesters being 3.8; I took an Honour Math course in freshman year which pulled my average down quite a bit).
I'm a little lost in terms of my career. I'm not exactly the best at speaking but have some experience with coding (Primarily R and Python). I've done some research on WSO and think that a quant role at a hedge fund would probably be the only thing that I could be suited for.
Honestly I have no idea what I'm doing and am more than a little worried, as I'm about to graduate next year with no job prospects lined up (I applied to over 100 jobs for this summer but got nothing back, none of them were quant roles). Does anyone have any experience/guidance they could share on what to do? Career path?
