Prop Shop Exits / Non-Compete

Hi everyone,I received an offer to work at a prop trading firm (think IMC, Flow, Akuna, etc.). All the offers I received have non-competes for around a year, and I was wondering if any of you have left a prop shop for another prop shop or HF? Was wondering if in 5 years if I want to exit to a Quant HF or different prop shop if theyll pay out of your non-compete or if you actually have to take a year off from trading? Looking to potentially move into fund like Citadel, 2Sigma, AQR, etc. or potentially other prop firms and don't really want to be out of the market for a year.Thx
