Publishing a novel while at a hedge fund?

Hi guys, long time user of the forum and always appreciate the knowledge here.

Title says it all...is it possible to publish a novel while at a hedge fund? Just to be clear, the novel I have in mind has nothing to do with finance (it's more of a historical fiction/ science fiction type), and will not be related to anything at work. My work contract doesn't specify anything about that (no surprise lol), but just wanted to see if anyone else has seen this done before?

Thanks!
