Quant Structure at Citadel

I'm a quant with experience in rates/FX/commodities. Through my network, I'm speaking to Citadel regarding a possible position in either GQS, GFI, or commodities. I am NOT looking to join as a central quant. Trying to get information about where I would best fit in.

GQS: Mostly equities, automated execution, some pods work in the dark as a signal factory and collaboration is varied. Quants are primary money generators, but there is a risk of being shafted under the "teamwork" model. Research infra is mostly in Cpp.

GFI: biggest group at Citadel.

1) Are they allowed to trade systematically with automated execution? Or would that be GQS?

2) Very cutthroat, competition with 20+ other pods in curve plays while providing diversification to other pods isn't going to be easy.

3) Quants seem to be very varied here depending on how the pod PM uses you.

Commodities; it seems that they are more of a fundamental shop with analytics, no automated execution. Adding value as a quant is going to be more slice/dice, but doesn't provide the same priority as a quant like GQS (lower comp) , but seems to be the most collaborative/nice group of all.

Any thoughts on where would be the best place to join for a quant at Citadel?
