Quant vs Data Scientist in Hedge Fund
What are the differences between these roles, if any? Are quants more research oriented? Are data scientists not involved in automatic execution of trades?
Data scientists provide us with a lot of the information we use to create algorithms, though they also do a lot of programming. I.e. Home Depot provides dads with the wood (which Home Depot has stripped, cut, cleaned, etc) and the dads use the wood to build a tree house
