Questions about Event Driven HFs

Hi all, incoming analyst in M&A at EB (EVR/PJT/LAZ) interested in HF recruiting, specifically for event driven funds. Have been doing research on this site and with some people in industry but have some underlying curiosities for people here.

What books, etc. would you recommend to prep for interviews/gain the mindset of an IP in event driven (I know there are threads on this but some are sparse/old)?

Is event driven comp similar to L/S at similar sized pods or SM (thinking specifically merger arb or special sits)?

Finally, haven't been able to find anything about stability/career prospects in event driven, is it better than traditional L/S or shop dependent? What do people do after if not promoted to a risk-taking role or PM?

Thanks in advance, all
