Rejected by Bridgewater, now what?
I completed 2 rounds of interviews with BW last week. I just received an email from HR saying that they enjoyed the talk but I’m not a strong fit for the team I interviewed with. They encourage me to apply to any opening position that may be interested to me.
Are they just being “polite”, or should I reapply to another position that is more general?
From my experience, every firm comes with that phrase after rejecting you to make up for hurting you. I am getting sick of hearing it, but I think you should grab the opportunity now that you did your research. If you were a strong candidate, you could refer to the interview which will prove that you really want to work with them
If it is other firm, then I would agree that they were just trying not to hurt my feelings. Since it is BW and they value “radical transparency”, that’s why I was not sure about the connotation. Thank you for your reply. I submitted another application waiting for their response now.
Any interesting color on the interview process there? Do they still do silly things like interview 5 kids at the same time? Did they make you debate another candidate in front of the interviewer as to why they should pick you over him?
