Remote HF internship - what did you do?
Hi monkeys.
I currently have an offer for a remote summer internship at a small HF (think 500mm AUM) for this summer. The job description was very vague, and I was wondering what I might do on a day-to-day basis. Do you guys have any experience with this?

It’s really up to your pm and your firm. For me, i would have small projects ranging from reactivating a name and seeing if theres an investment opportunity to filling out data sheets of kpis. Lots of solo 10-k/research. Not alot of teamwork.

Enjoy it while you can! HF internships are amongst the most interesting as far as the type of work goes. have been in a similar role and despite being dumped the work the PMs don't want to do, it's 1000x better than making powerpoint slides.
did you do something you can put on your resume? that is what I am afraid of...
I did some research and a ton of bitchwork during my HF internship last summer and being honest about that seemed like a pro during IB interviews. They seemed to appreciate how I knew the grass isn't necessarily greener on the buyside and that I cranked out a ton of PowerPoint slides. What's useful isn't necessarily what's sexy which defines the analyst experience.
what type of bitchwork if you mind slides vs cold calling vs data collection?
