Should I get a JD
Background: I'm currently at a multi-strat shop (coming up on 3 years here after 4 in banking) and have been looking at a lot more distressed debt situations. It feels like a space I want to continue to grow my skills in.
Education: I have a dual degree in Computer Science and Business Administration from a great school (one rung below Ivys but well known for Engineering/CS) and don't plan on getting an MBA
Question: People have suggested a JD (night school at decent school nearby - top 25) to continue to grow my skills. Others have suggested doing just the BK/restructuring focused courses on a 1-by-1 basis instead of spending 4-5 years getting a JD. Thoughts?
