Software issue
Just took the 45 minute initial modeling assessment and it was really easy BUT the software/website crashed about twenty minutes in and 1.) wiped my existing progress which wouldn’t have mattered if 2.) it didn’t also stop letting me input anything on the bottom half of the page and locking me out. I accessed the test a second time and this time finished with no problem.
Took a screenshot of the problem as proof but afraid BD won’t be bothered to hear an explanation, etc. Anyone have experience with this? Is this an automatic ding?
Based on the most helpful WSO content, technical issues during online assessments, especially for high-stakes roles like those at Citadel, can be stressful but are not uncommon. Here's how you might approach this situation:
Document Everything: You've already taken a screenshot of the issue, which is great. Make sure you have documented the time the issue occurred, any error messages, and the steps you took to try and resolve the issue.
Contact Support Immediately: Reach out to the technical support or the contact person provided for the assessment as soon as possible. Explain the situation clearly and provide the evidence you've collected. It's important to communicate proactively rather than waiting to see if they'll notice the issue on their end.
Follow Up: If you don't receive a response within a reasonable timeframe, it's appropriate to follow up. Sometimes emails can get lost in the shuffle, especially in large organizations.
Prepare for All Outcomes: While you wait for a response, continue your job search and preparation for other opportunities. It's important not to put all your hopes on one opportunity, especially when technical issues out of your control have occurred.
Reflect on the Experience: Regardless of the outcome, use this experience to prepare for future assessments. Consider having a backup plan, like a secondary device ready, and familiarize yourself with any software or platform guidelines beforehand to mitigate potential issues.
Remember, technical issues are a reality of the digital age, and most employers are aware of this. The key is how you handle the situation, demonstrating your problem-solving skills and professionalism.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Did you have it fixed in the end? Taking it soon and is now worried more about the software than the test, lol.
Literally just had the same thing happened to me but with only 10min left. Erased all my progress and I really only could fill out the IS/partial CFS and a couple other things with the remaining time. Any idea how to approach this?
FWIW I had tech issues, complained to recruiter, and was allowed to try again
