Strategy and ops at large multi-manager HF?

I am currently a few years in at MBB and was contacted by a HH about an internal strategy and ops position at a top multi-manager HF (think Citadel, Millennium, etc.) What type of work does this role do? Being kind of back-office, is it considered a good exit from MBB? What are exit opportunities a few years down the road?
