Team Atmosphere & Psychology | HF vs Sell Side

My general impression is that HF culture is generally harsher than working on the sell-side (S&T, or Research). People are more direct, the bar for anger/emotions and blame is much lower. Well yes, money is on the table and being direct is a good thing per se. However, I was wondering how one can prepare for such a shift in atmosphere, ahead of a potential move? Having a thick skin is good and great, but I feel the psychology inevitable changes / gets challenged, one way or the other.

Just random thoughts here ... bu I love to think about the psychology of the different environments we are dealing with in this industry.
