Obviously one of the best, most intellectually honest (to value investing) value funds out there. I listen to Nygren's interviews about his philosophy and I'm impressed.
Iirc, each analyst's pitch is challenged by all analysts before it gets considered by the 3 final decision makers (2 co-CIOs, the CEO/ PM). Then, the pitch is further challenged and approved by these 3 guys before it gets added to the shortlist of names. And that doesn't even add it to the portfolio. Nygren only picks from the shortlist when constructing the portfolio.
Reminds me of the old Tiger process when Julian absolutely tears pitches apart

What are some other funds similar to Harris Associates and Abdiel?
Harris charges MF fees not HF fees technically, though the divide between LO HF and LO AM is a little murky. Having talked to a few employees there, they seem to be REALLY passionate about public markets investing.

Bump, anyone know how difficult/selective their interview process is for summer internships?
Interviewed there this past summer....talked to a friend who's a research associate there now and he said around 1300 applications this year with a class of 4 who were accepted. So hard to get it, but gotta assume half of those 1300 are just trolls to be honest.
Love picking off and trading around these guys and other value mongers. Actual tools

One of the most highly regarded LO funds, best comparison is probably D&C because of boutique style despite high AUM and great reputation
