Tiger Global, Viking, Lone Pine, etc... partner all in comp at top global funds

On avg on a good year, say 15%+ returns, how much would partners at Tiger Global, Coatue, Third Point, Lone Pine, etc... the top funds be raking in in terms of total comp (not including the founder, just the partners beneath him who were hired)? Just want to get a sense of how much the partners are making, ex the founder obviously. I am really interested in finance and want to be partner at one of these funds. I've read "Security Analysis" by Benjamin Graham 10x and have memorized the book.

There has been a massive influx of questions on salaries for many of these anomaly type of dream roles. No one cares if you’re asking about standard comp - IB analyst, MF PE assoc. It’s just annoying as fuck when you see people trying to guesstimate how much these tiger cub analysts or partners are making because the range within the fund is probably really high and then the range across different years is also really high. So many people want to just fantasise about making that comp there. No data point will be realistic because circumstances are so different all the time. But yes the comp is really high if you do a decent job. Simple as that. The sickos at APO don’t go to Tiger Global for nothing.

Funniest

So much that the number has no significance to you. Will you be more/less interested if it’s $0 or $2m or $20m or $200m? It could be any one of those. And I suspect any single one seems like an inconceivable sum to you. So why don’t you spend more time thinking about things that matter and are relevant for your current place on that trajectory.

The reason people are irritated by this post is because it’s like a single sperm in pool of sploog piping up and asking “how much down payment do you need for a waterfront beach house in Malibu?” as if that answer is going to determine how hard he’s going to swim, how fast he’s going to walk/talk, finger paint, stop shitting his pant, etc.

For all we know he wasn’t even shot into a vagina, could have been catapulted into a gym sock for all we know.

Good point, but I'm also curious how much do top partners at D1 Capital also make, ex-founder of course, assuming it's a good year, say +15 return
