Trading Assistant interview preparation

I have an interview with a hedge fund for a trading assistant role. What questions besides behaviorals can I be expecting? In terms of technicals should I be studying hedging strategies or just should know market conditions and rates?

Need more color - trading assistant is a nebulous term. Also need to know the type of fund/ strat.

At some hedge funds it could mean a Jr PM where some risk taking is involved along with supporting a PM.

At other places its a pure analyst/ strategist role alongside a PM.

And it can also mean a pure back-office role.

Get a feeling that its the second option at a macro fund. If so, study the following: 1/ Options theory 2/ Rates theory 3/ Have 1-2 trade ideas ready, ideally pitches 4/ Provide a road-map as to how you'd add value in the role, the tools you would build etc 5/ Study a bit of mental math and brainteasers. But it isn't the end of the world if you get these wrong if you nail 1-4 above. Same goes for behaviorals.

Good luck.

Some of my HF friends who didn't come from sell-side ER did this shit. It's a lot of bitchwork and you will get berated a ton. But if you have the opp (depending on what fund you're at), seize it at put the work in to get where you want
