Trying to transfer… but I’m worried it might be too late

Hello fellow monkeys,

I am a senior with a 2.5 coming from a non target school with zero internships or experience. My gpa is this low because of a disability I was diagnosed with my freshman year that I dealt with for 2 years which required multiple surgeries.

I want to break into hedge funds to get some exp and start one in the future.

As the title says, I know I have zero chance to break into high finance coming from my school but I’m worried schools won’t take me this late in college. When fall applications open up I will have already graduated or be in the process of completing my last semester

How should I approach the situation?

0 exp and a 2.5 from a non-target, now a senior looking for FT... I hate to crush dreams but even in the best of markets you'd have a near insurmountable ask. Now though? You're going to have a hard enough time getting ANY job in finance, let alone a shot at something close to a HF. Unless you manage to network like an absolute fiend and endear some PM/CIO with your story I just can't fathom how you'd go about trying to accomplish this. You're probably better off setting your sights on something much lower and working your way up from there. After 5-10yrs of good work exp and references maybe you'd have a shot but with your current background you're never going to get funds/recruiters to pick up the phone, you're just not who they want to talk to.
