Wharton To Wall Street?

Hello all, I am currently a Sophomore in High School. I have a great interest in finance, particularity in Hedge Funds. I am reading "One Up On Wall Street" by Peter Lynch right now.

I want to work on Wall St. when I graduate college, my plan of attack right now is to achieve a very competitive SAT score (like 2300/2400), and get into Wharton or other Wall St. feeder schools. I am also starting a club at my school revolving health and fitness, and I am also going to open a small business in the near future to be considered for an Ivy.

Is attending undergrad at Wharton, majoring in Finance, a good path to even be considered at a Wall St. Hedge Fund? Do I need to also complete an MBA after to be able to attain senior positions quicker in Hedge Funds like HF. Manager and PM? I was thinking to do well in undergrad at an Ivy particularity Wharton, look for an internship, and then complete my MBA while working part time.

I would appreciate if any of you guys that work in a HF could give me some tips to get there. I am really passionate about this and I would really like some help.

Thank you for your time, Moinak Dey.

Worry about college next year. Enjoy being a kid. Start formulating a plan, but don't get ahead of yourself. If anybody on here said they wouldn't trade positions with you to be a kid again and have everything that you have in front of you, they'd be lying out of their ass.

Work hard in school. Find extracurricular activities that make yourself more well rounded (and more interesting). Make a list of schools and do some research. You don't need to do the standard Ivy -> Banking -> HF route to be successful, whether in banking or any other field. In fact, a lot of firms and companies enjoy seeing non-traditional routes. It's a breath of fresh air to find kids not cut from the same cloth as everyone else.

At the end of the day, just enjoy being a kid in high school right now. Start planning for college, no doubt... But believe me, 10-15 years from now, you'll be wishing you were still a Sophomore in high school.

Best of luck.
