What is the best way to find small SM L/S equity funds?

Hi,

I am an undergraduate passionate about investing, and I am hoping to intern at a small (sub $250mm) SM L/S fund this summer.

What is the best way to find these funds? SEC filings, CapitalIQ, etc.?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some effective ways to find small SM L/S equity funds:

  1. SEC Filings: Reviewing SEC filings can provide detailed information about smaller funds, including their investment strategies and holdings.
  2. CapitalIQ: This platform offers comprehensive data on various funds, including small SM L/S equity funds, and can be a valuable resource for your search.
  3. Networking: Engaging with professionals in the industry through networking events, LinkedIn, or alumni connections can help you discover smaller funds that may not be widely advertised.
  4. Industry Directories and Data Aggregators: Utilizing public industry directories and data aggregators can help you identify potential funds.
  5. Business Brokers: Some funds may be listed through business brokers, which can be another avenue to explore.

These methods should help you in your search for a small SM L/S equity fund to intern with this summer. Good luck!
