How smart the friends that you source your ideas from are.

Not even kidding, this is what I have personally witnessed. These guys sit in discords and chatrooms, pushing ideas all day long amongst each other. If you have the time to read through and filter, you will consistently find a good amount of investible opportunities. Guy on our team, former HF, gets 60-70% of his ideas from there, 20-30% from other parts of his network or quarterly letters, 0-10% he genuinely generates himself but extremely rare. And it works. In the end, it comes down to being in the know. Everyone can decide for themselves how they do it, but some approaches are more efficient than others and can result in significantly less work.
