What's going on at Point72?
Hearing that nearly all teams across sectors are flat or down YTD. HH I spoke with said he’s been getting inbounds from a dozen or so analysts and Academy associates doing team rotations since the market downturn. Looking to recruit in the MM space--is now not a good time?

But on a serious note, MMs have had a rough February with C/M also being down. No clue what March has looked like, but know a few teams that have been let go across the space in EMEA, so probably extends to P72
why are you happy to hear teams are fired?
bad xp with the firm, but I was being facetious. them being fired doesn't make me $, so I don't actually care
Isn’t what’s going on at Point also happening at other places? Not so market neutral after all. Feel like now’s generally a bad time to apply, whichever shop/fund you’re applying to.
It’s not being mkt neutral that’s hurting them - it’s the systemic de-grossing going on. MMs are somewhat ponzi like in that aspect

It's dumb to try and time your application to a MM. These places are ALWAYS hiring. Even when the market is tough, there are 10 new PMs about to launch looking to build out their teams.
How has your experience been during these period?
can new PMs throw 7 fig guarantees at sub PMs?
Any color on Academy Associates and their path on converting to FT analysts? Joining as an intern in APAC this summer, and this has got me quite worried
Most process seems to be paused because of market volatility
