https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/4418123140/

We are partnering with a prominent global credit fund to appoint an experienced investment professional to join its flagship opportunistic credit strategy. Operating within a platform that benefits from significant scale, a flexible mandate, and a deeply embedded global sourcing network, the successful candidate will play a central role in executing investments across both public and private markets. This high-conviction strategy focuses on deploying capital across complex, dislocated, and event-driven opportunities to generate differentiated alpha.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the underwriting, financial modeling, and execution of opportunistic credit investments across long/short credit, high yield and stressed debt, restructurings, and special situations.
  • Evaluating capital deployment opportunities across the full capital structure, including high-yield bonds, leveraged loans, private credit, trade claims, structured products, and post-reorganization equity.
  • Conducting detailed analysis of restructuring and liability management processes, supporting senior leadership in creditor negotiations and capital structure optimization.
  • Preparing comprehensive investment committee materials and presenting high-conviction opportunities to drive portfolio construction decisions.
  • Maintaining and expanding a strong network of relationships across investment banks, restructuring advisors, legal counsel, and trading desks to assist with proprietary deal sourcing.
  • Monitoring existing portfolio investments, evaluating risk management parameters, and managing the day-to-day workflow of junior analysts and associates on the team.

Candidate Profile

The role requires an experienced credit investor who can operate independently while collaborating effectively within a high-performance team. Qualified candidates will bring:

  • Current experience operating at the VP- or Director-level or equivalent within a credit fund, special situations group, with specific US distressed credit/restructuring, or bankruptcy experience
  • Deep technical expertise in analyzing complex capital structures, corporate documentation, and illiquid credit instruments.
  • A proven track record of executing distressed, stressed, or event-driven transactions through the entire investment lifecycle.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills combined with strong commercial judgment and communication capabilities.
  • The ability to independently manage transaction execution and successfully mentor junior investment professionals.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, there isn't a direct identification of the specific distressed fund mentioned in the LinkedIn job posting. However, the description aligns with prominent funds operating in the opportunistic credit and distressed investing space. Funds like Oaktree, Apollo, Centerbridge, Sixth Street, or Brookfield Special Investments are known for similar strategies and roles. Additionally, firms like Ares, HPS, and Blackstone TacOpps also have opportunistic credit arms that fit this profile.

If you're looking for more precise guesses, it might help to cross-reference the job description with recent hiring trends or announcements from these funds.
