Commodities or more Conventional Finance? Insight into the Outlook and Earning Potential of Oil and Gas / Precious Metal Trading

Hi. I'm currently studying at undergrad level and I'm looking for some insight from people in the industry (or anyone else really) as to the outlook and earning potential in commodities trading - particularly oil and gas or precious metals but all contributions are welcome.

What is your role and which commodity are you involved with? Why did you enter the industry? Do you regret it? Would you enter the industry now? Outlook for job prospects? Do you think oil and gas or precious metals is a better route? I'm particularly concerned about the impact of the push for decarbonization in terms of job prospects in oil and gas trading as it is such a specialized field. Earning potential? Is it worth it compared to more conventional routes in finance? Any other thoughts or advice Thanks
