First Time Investor
I am a current college student and about to begin investing. I would like some help on investment strategies that have worked for you all in the past and that are working currently.
I am mainly focused at the moment on investing in index funds for the time being. I would, however, like to hear your ideas if I am making a mistake.
Also, any general tips for a young investor would be preferred! (Websites, articles, advice, etc.)
Thank you!
If you're planning on investing for the long term I would strongly recommend a low cost index based ETF. Personally I've split my money between a global ETF and an S&P 500 ETF. The management costs are super low as they're just keeping their fund updated to track an Index and in reality most mutual funds don't outperform indices over long time periods.

Just stick with the ETFs.. You will better off in the long run
For a beginner read - Money: Mastering the Game by Tony Robbins
a great book to read is "one up on wall street" by Peter Lynch. it's genesis is to view companies as businesses instead of just a stock price on a chart. as for your investing strategy, mutual funds and etfs are a safer way to make money while also allowing you to learn a bit before investing in individual companies. good luck.
Buy low, sell high.
