Florida Investment Conference
Curious what kind of reputation this pitch stock competition has, like they have a bunch of Ivy's having participated in the past, wondering what kind of bragging rights it has other than networking opportunities

Career Resources
The Florida Investment Conference's stock pitch competition doesn't appear explicitly in the WSO dataset provided, but based on similar events like the Michigan Ross UIC 2023 or Ohio State's Stock Pitch Competition, these types of competitions generally carry significant value in terms of networking and skill-building. Here's what you should consider:
Reputation and Prestige:
While the dataset highlights events like the Michigan Ross UIC, which attracts top schools (Ivies, Duke, NYU, etc.) and prominent industry professionals (e.g., Howard Marks, Tony Ressler), the reputation of a stock pitch competition often depends on the caliber of participating schools, sponsors, and judges. If the Florida event attracts similar high-profile participants, it could hold strong bragging rights.
Networking Opportunities:
These competitions are excellent for connecting with industry professionals, recruiters, and peers from other top schools. For example, the Michigan Ross UIC features professionals from firms like Apollo, Blackstone, and Citadel, which can be a game-changer for career opportunities.
Skill Development:
Participating in a stock pitch competition hones your analytical, presentation, and teamwork skills. It also demonstrates your ability to think critically under pressure, which is highly valued in finance roles.
Bragging Rights:
Winning or even participating in a well-regarded competition can be a strong resume booster. It signals to recruiters that you have practical experience and can perform in competitive environments.
If the Florida Investment Conference has a history of attracting top schools or notable sponsors, it could be a valuable addition to your resume and a great way to expand your professional network. If you're unsure about its reputation, try researching past participants, sponsors, and judges to gauge its standing in the finance community.

From my understanding it’s one of the better run competitions, with a pretty solid group of judges/speakers. I participated a year ago and noticed the same people there at comps like UIC, USC, etc
What would you say the pedigree of the schools is?
The pedigree of the schools that attend are pretty solid. Very well rounded with at least half of the participants being from target schools.
