impact of stimulus bill on stock markets
The $2T stimulus package has been passed as of today. It included a ban on stock buybacks from companies who will receive government loan during the term of assistance + 1 year. I am curious of the WSO investment community’s insight on the impact, of any, of this clause on the stock market recovery. We learned from textbooks that share repurchases provide market liquidity and especially at times such as this. Here is my second question: Do you think many companies will choose not to receive government assistance in favor of keeping the option to buy back shares?
