New Goldman Sachs / Apple Credit Card and Video Streaming Service

Hey everyone,

So Apple just announced their new services including a credit card, news subscription service, and a streaming platform including channels like HBO.

Curious to get your thoughts on what you think and whether you will be using these? Especially since this is part of a big refocusing push at Apple to generate larger service revenues

The credit card is underwhelming. Many other cards exist which offer a better cash back reward program.

However, Apple knows it's customer, and many will chomp on the bit to have the Apple Credit Card along with every other product they make.

Slap an Apple Logo on a VCR and the fans will scoop them up like it's back for the first time.

I have a ton of credit cards and like Apple products but I'm not really into the cash back cards. Still, for your average American, 3% back on Apple and 2% back on all purchases with Apple Pay, plus the daily cash back instead of monthly, is pretty cool. It is weird that it'll only be 1% back when you actually use the physical card, because clearly they're trying to push people toward Apple pay, but then why make such a big deal about the physical card being titanium? Metal cards are cool but that doesn't mean anything if it stays in your sock drawer.

We value, no wait, we MAKE A STAND FOR your privacy, so your card will only have your name on it and nothing else. What's that? Oh, yeah well it'll be processed via MasterCard. What's that? Oh, yeah of course they have your credit card data, since credit history is personal and traceable. But hey, there's no "sensitive" information ON THE CARD.

This is as private as a lap dance in Times Sq.
