One AI Prompt That Saved You Hours?

Curious to hear from people across IB / PE / ER / VC:

What are the most useful prompts/workflows you use on firm AI tools, AlphaSense, ROGO, ChatGPT, etc. that genuinely made your life easier?

Not generic “summarize this transcript” prompts — more like workflows that:
• saved hours of work
• improved analysis quality
• generated differentiated insights
• automated repetitive tasks

Would love to crowdsource the best prompts/workflows used across finance.

  3. Automated Valuation Comparisons:

    • Workflow: AI can streamline the initial screening process, allowing teams to focus on high-priority opportunities.
  6. Automated Report Summarization:

    • Prompt: "Summarize this 50-page equity research report into a one-page executive summary, highlighting key investment theses and risks."
    • Workflow: Saves significant time for senior professionals who need quick insights without diving into full reports.
  7. Data Visualization:

    • Prompt: "Create a visual representation of revenue growth trends for these companies over the last five years."

EBITDA adjustment review on cims. Prompt is basically pull every add-back, bucket them (one-time, owner comp, run-rate, synergy), grab the banker's rationale and flag anything vague or missing. Cuts first cim read from like 90 min to 15. Doesn't do the work for you but you walk into the analyst convo already knowing which adjustments are sus.

tbh a better one is diff analysis on portco earnings calls. Last 4 quarters of management commentary, ask what topics they've stopped talking about, where hedging language has gone up, where confidence has dropped. Caught a portco for us maybe 6 weeks before they came in with a covenant issue they'd basically been telegraphing in their language for two calls straight.
