Silicon Valley Takes on Wall Street
In what seems like an effort to cater to the interests and complaints of companies in Silicon Valley, vanguards of Silicon Valley have proposed the Long Term Stock Exchange (LTSE). The LTSE is a means of fighting the public markets' "short-term" outlook:
The only thing that matters is, ‘What did you tell the Street, and what did you make?’ said Margit Wennmachers, a partner at Mr. Andreessen’s firm, Menlo Park, Calif.-based Andreessen Horowitz. 'They don’t care about virtual reality or autonomous driving or what your long-term strategy is.'
Personally, I believe the LTSE is really going to accommodate those in SV very well considering the strong presence of companies are focusing on developing new technologies that won't necessarily be realized very soon (but rather a few years down the lane).
What do you guys think about the LTSE? Do you think we'll more companies going public if the LTSE is approved?
