Stock Picks for August 25th
I'm thinking of going on a buying spree when the market opens up tomorrow morning. I'm trying to take advantage of the "discounts" out right now. I have a few picks, interested in opinions.
-GoPro, closed at 47.86 -Twitter, closed at 25.26 -Emerson Electric, closed at 46.37 -Facebook, closed at 82.09
Why these particular stocks? I'm a small-cap dude, so just curious...
Just curious: Why Twitter? It is quite below its IPO price. Buying it would be risky, in my opinion.

The first thought that I have about buying TWTR or GPRO after a market-wide drop like that is "Wow, that's a scary move to make with my own money on the line".
If you want to be greedy while I'm being fearful, go right ahead, but I personally would not touch those two with a 10-foot stick.
By the time the market opens these will not be on a "discount". You should have had the balls to buy them yesterday. Everyone is going to be covering their shorts so expect a bounce tomorrow and then we could see further decline in the coming weeks. I would suggest not buying today and certainly not a market order at the open, well never use market-on-open orders for that matter.
Went the opposite way blue chips with nice dividends and/or low P/E ratio for their sector.
Trying to capture some potential upside without too much risk.
Every single one of the stocks listed above, gapped up significantly and then trended down all day. Never go with MOOs man, and always know your price (if possible, get paid to wait for it...).
Didn't go with MOOs. Yesterday, I waited about 2 hours after opening for the stock to dip low, Bought about 5k worth of GoPro, Emerson and BoA. Purchased quite low at a good price, then this morning right when the market opened, sold all at peak price. Waited about 1-2 hours when prices dipped way the hell down, then re-bought. Made AT LEAST $500. Easy money. Just another day in the casino.

Went more conservative with APPL, GE and PFE. More conservative but still capturing the upside of this selloff.
Wish I would have stocked up a little on Disney. Knew that $90 price tag needed to be bought but I was hesitant and missed my chance. Unsure if it will drop back down to $90, but if it does, I'm there.
