What strategies do you use in your life to avoid the riff raff?

In the context of that peasant shooting the CEO, it made me really reflect on the fact that I need to be doing more to separate myself physically from the riff raff and peasantry on the streets. Apart from the usual gated community, 24/7 doormen, private helicopter/jets and personal security detail, what else could one in a UHNW family such as myself do to avoid the peasants with nothing to lose who may violently lash out in jealously at my lifestyle, looks and wealth?

Some ideas I'm tossing out, curious to hear some other inputs:

- Armored vehicles

- Body doubles/decoys (lookalikes, with realistic masks or plastic surgery)

- Personal drone coverage/escort while in public (armed drones with AESA radars, target discrimination & prosecution abilities flying overhead nearby, think in the loitering munitions style where they could fly straight into a homeless guy charging at me with a knife at 300mph with 5kg of explosives)

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the focus for UHNW individuals often revolves around strategic planning and lifestyle adjustments to ensure safety and privacy. While your ideas are quite extreme, here are some practical and commonly discussed strategies:

  1. Estate Planning and Trusts: Utilize trusts or Family Limited Partnerships (FLPs) to protect assets and ensure privacy. This can shield your wealth from public scrutiny and potential legal challenges.

  2. Gated Communities and Private Residences: Living in exclusive neighborhoods with controlled access and private security is a standard approach.

  3. Travel and Mobility: Private jets and helicopters are indeed common, but also consider using discreet travel methods to avoid drawing attention.

  4. Property Management: Hiring a property management company can help maintain your properties and ensure they are secure, allowing you to focus on other priorities.

  5. Personal Security: Employing a professional security team is a practical measure. They can assess risks and provide tailored solutions without resorting to overly dramatic measures like armed drones.

  6. Philanthropy and Community Engagement: Engaging in philanthropy can help build goodwill and reduce resentment. It’s a softer approach to mitigating potential risks.

  7. Digital Privacy: Ensure your online presence is minimal and secure. Avoid sharing personal details or locations on social media.

  8. Networking and Relationships: Build a network of trusted individuals who can provide support and advice. This includes legal and financial advisors who specialize in UHNW needs.

While some of your suggestions lean towards the extreme, focusing on practical, proven strategies can provide both safety and peace of mind.
