Now comes another high-end valuation for a tech company (https://www.wsj.com/articles/pinterest-files-conf…), uber and lyft had a valuation of 15.1 B $ and 120Bn$ respectively. When would the current spate of high-end valuations for such network-based tech companies end? What is the reason for such high pre-IPO Valuations which won't be able to sustain in the long run?

Anyone investing at ridiculous valuations is just gambling. Great for the employees/entrepreneurs/etc... and more power to them but Papa Buffet is always right in the end.
