10 Commandments of a Wall Street Intern.

  1. Our group dresses very convervatively. Given that it is summer, no socks is accepted and, in fact, encouraged. (Men: On your first day at the desk, it is customary to wear a bowtie and/or suspenders).

  2. Remember: this is a summer internship for a full-time offer. It won't be easy. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

The list goes on, one of my favorite:

9.Have a spare tie/scarf or two around. You never know when your associate will run out of napkins.

Hilarious read. Anyone know this guy or know if he is still employed?

There was a WSO post about this last night. I know of the person who sent this email and he is a 2nd year analyst. Overall the BarCap Power and Utilities group is very fratty and jokes around a lot.

On a side note I think this was very bad timing considering what happened at GS and Moelis recently.

"Sterling Archer"

Pretty typical joke e-mail. Can't believe it's worthy of WSJ coverage.

Yeah I don't think it's bad compared to some others, but any "insider emails" from white "privilege" make the news these days. Banking, Greek life, etc. Gotta keep feeding the internet outrage industrial complex.
