Is it possible for somebody to work in IB for 10+ years and never get past VP? I saw someone post that after 10 years you gotta find a new job if you don’t make MD. Can anyone share insight on the average ages of VP’s and how old the oldest is at your respectful firm? Just for my own curiosity.
Also, just confirming, an MBA is not necessary anymore in IB is it? I’ve noticed multiple people say that there’s Analyst to Associate programs and that it’s done in house without the need for B-school.
Thanks.
It is definitely possible. You don't have to find a new job per se, but that would be your best bet. Age range is 28-40, with the average age being around 30.
Thank you
