How about 2009 S&T bonus numbers, breaking down according to role (trader, quant, IT), level (analyst, associate, VP, MD etc) and desks (rates, credit, commodities, FX, emerging markets etc)?

So the bottom line is... bonuses still are not taxed any differently than ordinary base salary income.
Although what you wrote is true, I heard that Obama wants to push through legislation that would introduce an excise tax on bonuses received by VP's in a quant role on emerging markets desks.
Really? I didn't even know Obama knew a quant on an emerging market desk existed. What do you think happened to that AirFrance flight? How the hell does it take the Brazilian authorities 3 hours after they lose radio contact with the flight to send out air force to find the plane. I mean, they definitely crashed and I doubt anyone made it, but atleast they'd know where the plain went down, have a better idea what happened, and maybe could send divers down to recover bodies.
Do you watch Lost on ABC? This whole scenario sounds like it was taken straight out of the script to that series.

I heard CDN banks were at 50-75. Could be untrue.
The number for canadian banks was substantially higher than this.
