2013 Accelerated Recruiting in London

Hi WSOers,

I found several threads about accelerated recruiting in the U.S., but not so much information about London.

I will be interning with an elite boutique this summer and would like to use the opportunity to interview with bulge brackets for FT recruiting.

I am quite clueless about the process however, I only know that GS hold two breakfasts in late August; I attended last year and "networked" with an MD and a bunch of HR, but that didn't get me an interview.

Do you know if other banks organise events, or if there is something to do to be considered for FT recruiting early in the process?
I am pretty sure that MS is doing something.

Please bear in mind that I am asking for London specifically.

Regarding BBs vs. elite boutiques in London, I still have the feeling that the top 8 BBs provide better exit opportunities than the elite boutiques. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Thanks

As far as I know only GS does those events, at least for S&T. I think they are not breakfasts, at least the ones for interns. Last year they had an event in the afternoon so interns from other firms could attend after work.

I'm not in IBD so I'm not an expert, but I believe there are still some elite boutiques that place better than BBs, although probably less than in the US. I know a guy who just made the jump to a PE megafund.
