Hi Everyone,

As my goal is to get a summer internship at a Tier 1 BB in London during the summer of 2020 (hoping to get a full time return offer after that) I wanted to see if anyone has some guidance on how to best land the summer analyst position.

For example, Goldman Sachs, applications starting 1st of July, there are a few options to apply:

1st: Full time analyst position (skipping the summer internship, never heard of this to be achievable before but as i'll hold 2 master degrees after next year might be to considered? Please ridicule me if i'm wrong haha)

2nd: Summer Analyst position (standard way)

Really could use some guidance, so if anyone has some advice on what you think is possible for me, that would be great. Thanks in advance!!!

You need to go through SA applications to be competitive, without having done a summer internship previously you'll struggle. While your profile seems great, target a wider net than just tier 1 BBs, these are within your reach, but there is also surely a bit of luck involved. I have friends that got offers from one of these 3 but never got an interview from the 2 others...

Most firms will allow you to start early after your Summer either in Oct/Jan/Apr usually. Also note that some firms having off cycles do not hire final years for SA but they do for off-cycle, I'd recommend googling/linkedin around to see who does/who doesn't and ask HR if possible - this changes every other year so you may be able to find some infos here and there - idk myself as I haven't been such a situation.
