Can anyone explain the justification for 0.5x--can't really understand why that would be the case

 

Math checks out. Some people prestige whore hard enough that GS can pay like this and people will still want to intern/work there.

And, frankly, the post tax earnings delta over SA is peanuts compared to the career that a platform like GS could provide you. The OT rate shouldn't factor at all into a prospect's decision of where to intern/sign.

 

Holy — did they work you to the bone or was your pro rata/OT rate just that good?
