2023 SA Recruiting Update
I will be a junior next semester and am looking to land a 2023 SA position at literally any investment bank. I started recruiting very late (May) and missed a lot of opportunities to land a position. MM is likely what I am looking for as most BBs and EBs seem to be done recruiting. I currently am working in public finance investment banking at a very small local firm, so I am open to staying in PubFin if necessary, but am leaning more towards regular IB.
I am writing this post in hopes of gaining some direction in the recruiting process for 2023 SA. I know most firms are done or nearly done, but there are a handful that haven’t started and there is still time for. I am trying to figure out which firms may still be recruiting or start a new recruiting process in the fall so I know where to prioritize networking.
Does anyone know firms that recruit later in the summer or in the fall? This list below is what I have heard mostly. Feel free to correct this or make additions. Any help is appreciated.
Haven’t started:
DB, RJ, HW, Wells, FT Partners, Stephens, Citizens Bank, Wedbush, JMP
Still going or have another round in fall:
Stifel, Cowen, Nomura, Truist, KeyBank, TD, Suntrust, DA Davidson, BMO, Oppenheimer, Societe Generale
FTP has definitely given out offers already, would also add Macquarie to still going. Best of luck in the rest of the process!
Anyone had success in an IB SA role at one of the firms OP mentioned and then started FT at a BB or EB?
yes but theyre all great firms so your finance career isnt over if u end up at one of them lol
seen a few times people going from super small firms that arent well-known to BB's, just make sure u prep ur technicals throughout the school year cuz full time technicals are way harder than Sa ones

heard anecdotally that JPM has a fall wave. goldman has july wave but idk how much of class is filled from april.
