Advice for IBD FT recruiting with no SA on resume?
As the title says, anyone have advice on how to recruit for a full time IB offer after graduation if my only internship experience is Corp Dev? I didn’t have a summer analyst stint.

Guessing there’s no advice because it just isn’t going to happen unfortunately
Lol this guy is cappin'. I know someone who did corp dev her junior summer b/c she thought she was gonna go to med school then pivoted to IB senior fall. I think doing CD will help in telling your story and how you got to this point. It may be a grind, but it'll work out.
I'm also pivoting to IB right now with no SA on the resume and have gotten all positive feedback from those I've networked with (and I'm in some recruiting processes right now, so know it isn't impossible, just a little harder).
Appreciate the encouragement! Do you have any advice coming from someone in the same shoes as me?
Keyword: "she".
What firms have officially started their recruiting process?

What if I have previous banking internships but just nothing for junior summer because I was doing classes instead? Will full time recruiting be affected that much?
Curious too. If I worked in IB soph summer and got return offer, then did VC/PE/HF junior summer, would it be a significant disadvantage for IB FT recruiting?
did it end up working out for you? same spot rn
just stay in PC IB sucks anyways

Hey man, came from a similar situation with non-IB experience both sophomore and junior summers (WM). It definitely isn’t impossible but you will just need to be proactive and try to network as much as possible to get your foot in the door. Try to find alumni from your school who are in IB and reach out to them as they will understand your situation and are more inclined to help (at least from my experience). Try to take a modeling course or something of that sort to mention in interviews to show you are putting in the work on your own to make up for the lack of prior experience. Going off of that, need to be sharp on technicals when you are able to sit down for an interview so start hammering the 400 Question packet and TTS packets. If you aren’t familiar with those, more than happy to send over.
It’s all about doing everything you can to be prepared and once one of the connections comes to fruition and you get in the door, you have to be able to capitalize. It will most likely be more difficult to get the interviews with no prior ibd experience, but all you need is one that you crush to get the seat.
Hope that helps, good luck!
