Advice for incoming freshman at Canadian semi target
I’m starting Laurier BBA this fall and I’m looking for some advice. My goal is to break into Bay Street for investment banking, but my ultimate goal is Wall Street.
I had a few questions:
- What’s the best advice you’d give to a freshman coming into Laurier?
- What clubs should I be trying to join at Laurier for IB/finance?
- Any Laurier-specific advice that would help with recruiting?
- What kind of internship should I try to get for first year summer?
- Should I try to transfer after first year? If so, should I be aiming for Queen’s, Ivey, or even an American school? If the U.S. is worth it, what schools are realistic transfer targets from Laurier?
- Any general advice or things you wish you knew before starting?
