Advice on Moving Between Teams

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has any advice on how specifically to go about moving desks within the same division.

I will be interning this summer on the ECM desk of my bank, but would greatly prefer to be on the debt side, as I find it more interesting and somewhere I could see myself developing long term. For context, the recruiting for both of these teams was done together, and then desk assignments happened later, which is when I got assigned to ECM.

I am seeking advice on how best to navigate this summer to maximize my change of (1) getting a return offer, and (2) being able to move desks. I think obviously I have to perform well on my desk and network, nut I am struggling on planning the specifics on how to do it without shooting myself in the foot.

All advice would be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance!
